FIND OUT WHO ACTUALLY KNOWS YOUR PLAYBOOK

You spent the offseason building your playbook. This release is about the players on the other side of it.

Player Quizzes are here. Build a quiz from your own plays, send it to your roster, and see exactly who knows their assignment before you find out on game day. My Team got the same treatment: a real roster you can build before anyone gets invited, a depth chart you can see on the field, and a view of who is actually opening the app.

Here is what is new.

How Player Quizzes Work

A quiz comes together in three steps:

  1. Pick the plays the quiz covers, straight from your playbook folders. See How do I add plays to a quiz? - https://knowledge.footballplaycard.com/how-do-i-add-plays-to-a-quiz
  2. Write your questions on each play, and target them to the positions they apply to. See How do I write quiz questions? - https://knowledge.footballplaycard.com/how-do-i-write-quiz-questions
  3. Pick your audience, set a due date, and publish. See How do I create a quiz? - https://knowledge.footballplaycard.com/how-do-i-create-a-quiz

Your players take it on whatever they already have. Every quiz screen works on a phone, a tablet, and a laptop, so a player can review the plays on the bus and answer in the same place.

Short Answers That Understand What Your Player Meant

Multiple choice tells you a player can recognize the right answer. It does not tell you they could explain it.

So quizzes take short answers too, and they are graded by AI that compares what your player meant against your question and your answer. A player who knows the assignment but words it differently than you would is still marked correct. You get to ask "what is your read on this coverage?" instead of writing four options and hoping one of them teaches something.

See Who Is Actually Studying

Coaches have been asking for this one for a while. My Team has a new Activity tab that shows you engagement per player, not just who accepted an invite.

You get last active, visits, plays viewed, time spent on plays, and quiz averages, across a week, a month, or a season. The tile worth checking before a game week is At risk, which counts the players who have not opened the app in ten days or more. Open any player to see their last seven days and their visit history.

Build Your Roster Before You Invite Anyone

You do not have every player's email address in July, and you should not need it to get organized.

You can now add a player to your roster without inviting them. Enter their name, jersey number, and positions, and they sit on your roster as Not Invited. Build your whole roster, rank your depth chart, then send the invites when you are ready. Nothing you set up is lost: their jersey, positions, and depth chart spot all carry over when they accept.

Your Depth Chart, as a List or on the Field

My Team has a real depth chart now. Rank your players at every position in the List view, then switch to Field to see your starting group laid out in formation.

The field view works on a phone, with the formation running vertically so you can pan and zoom around it from the sideline. And because you can rank players who have not accepted their invite yet, you can have your two deep sorted before install week.

Tell the App How Your Team Plays, Once

There is now a single This team plays control covering tackle, flag, and 7 on 7, plus your player count from 4 on 4 up to 11 on 11. Set it once and it follows you: your roster, your depth chart, and Player Options all show only the positions that apply to your team.

Player Options was rebuilt around it. Positions are collapsible rows with a live preview of the marker as you edit, you can drag to reorder them, rename them, and set a default line ending per position.

Changes You Will Notice

A few things work differently than they did last month:

  • A published quiz cannot be edited. Save it as a draft while you are still building it.
  • Player Options positions are in a fixed football order and no longer re-sort while you type. Drag to set your own order.
  • Your roster sorts differently by default and invites now go to the team you have selected rather than asking you to pick a binder.

Player Quizzes are included on State Champion plans and above, the same as Game Planning and video uploads. My Team, your roster, your depth chart, and Activity are available on every plan.
