Spring 2026 Product Update

GOROUT INTEGRATION IS LIVE — PLUS POWERPOINT EXPORT, PLAY TAGS, VIDEO UPLOADS, AND MORE

If you have ever finished drawing a play in Football Play Card and then had to download it, rename it, upload it somewhere else, and hope it showed up correctly on the sideline — this update is for you.

The Spring 2026 release is built around one idea: less friction between what you draw and what your players see. Starting with the GoRout integration.

Here is everything that shipped.

GoRout Integration: From Design to Execution in Seconds

Football Play Card now connects directly to GoRout Scout, the practice communication platform used by teams from youth leagues to NFL programs.

Football-Play-Card-GoRout-Integration
Here is how it works:

Step 1: Create your plays in Football Play Card using the fast Xs and Os play editor

Step 2: Push your plays to GoRout — select plays and click the GoRout button to send instantly

Step 3: View your plays inside GoRout Scout, synced to your practice plan and ready for quick, efficient execution

No downloading. No re-uploading. No reformatting. You draw a play, tap a button, and your players see it on the field.

This is Football Play Card's first hardware integration. It was built to close the gap between your playbook software and your on-field communication system.

Mike Rolih, Founder of GoRout: "Coaches already have strong systems in place, and our goal isn't to replace them, but to help streamline them. GoRout Connect allows us to integrate directly with tools like Football Play Card so coaches can move information faster, reduce friction in their process, and keep everything where it belongs."

Chris Patullo, Founder and CEO of Football Play Card: "Football Play Card was built to help coaches teach the game more efficiently. Integrating with GoRout allows coaches to go from creating a play to delivering it directly to their players in seconds. When you combine a fast playbook system with instant on-field communication, it creates a powerful workflow that helps coaches install plays faster and run more efficient practices."

GoRout Scout is used at all levels, from youth leagues to Power 4 programs. If your organization uses GoRout, the connection is live in your Football Play Card account today.

Getting started: Log in, select the plays you want to send, and click the GoRout button. You authorize once and your plays start flowing. Full setup instructions are in the Knowledge Base.

PowerPoint Export: Your Playbook, Ready for the Film Room

Football-Play-Card-Export-to-PowerPoint

Any binder or selection of plays can now be exported directly to a PowerPoint file.

Install meetings. Film sessions. Scouting decks. Coordinator presentations. If your staff lives in PowerPoint, your Football Play Card plays can meet them there.

The file exports as "Football Play Card Export.pptx" with clean, borderless slides at the correct aspect ratio. Plays export in the same order they appear in your Play Card Manager. Text notes, and play names all render correctly.

Youth, high school, college, and pro coaches who run offensive installs from a slideshow can now pull directly from the same plays they use for wristbands, GoRout, and print. One set of plays. Every output format.

Play Tags and Search: Organize Any Way You Want

Football-Play-Card-Tags

Add custom tags to any play. Then filter your Play Card Manager instantly to see only the plays that match.

Tags display as visual chips in your play grid so you can scan at a glance. A single play can carry multiple tags. Once you create a tag, it is reusable across your whole playbook.

How coaches are using tags:

  • Situation: Red Zone, Two-Minute, Goal Line, Short Yardage
  • Week: Week 1, Week 2, Bye Week Install
  • Output: Wristband, Scout Card, Film Session
  • Concept: Blitz Pick-Up, 7on7, Flag

Search works across tags and play fields at the same time, or you can narrow to tags only.

If you have more than 50 plays in your account, tags are the fastest way to find exactly what you need.

Video Uploads: Attach Film Directly to Your Play Cards

Football-Play-Card-Video-Upload

Coaches on State Champion plans and above can now attach video clips directly to individual play cards.

Film a rep. Attach it to the diagram. Now every coach and player looking at that play card can see the live look alongside the drawing.

The play auto-saves when a video is uploaded. Storage is displayed in MB for readability. World Champion plans include 5GB of video storage.

Division Champion coaches will see a plan upgrade prompt. Video uploads are one of the strongest reasons to move up to State Champion.

League Owner and Multi-Team Sharing: Distribute Playbooks Across Your Organization

Football-Play-Card-Organization-League-Owner

A new League Owner role lets associations, clubs, and multi-team coordinators distribute View-Only playbooks to coaches across their organization.

Here is the flow: A League Owner selects which binder to share when inviting a coach. That coach receives a fresh blank playbook for their own use, plus access to the shared binder. The shared binder is View-Only, so coaches can read and use it without being able to change the original.

Coaches can also create new playbooks from scratch inside their account for a different team, season, or program and share those with any coach they work with.

This is the right tool for youth league directors, club coordinators, and any program managing multiple teams or coaching levels.

Contact the Football Play Card team to get the League Owner role assigned to your account. support@footballplaycard.com

Mobile Printing: Print from Your Phone or Tablet

Football-Play-Card-Mobile-Print

Coaches can now print plays, playbooks, and wristbands directly from their iOS or Android device.

Available in the updated apps on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Also available in Chrome on the iPad and iPhone and Android web browsers.

If you run practice from a tablet, you no longer need to go back to your laptop to print. Update your app to get this.

IFAF Field Type: Built for International Flag Football

Football-Play-Card-IFAF-Flag-Field-Layout

The IFAF field type is now available for coaches running international flag football programs.

IFAF is the International Federation of American Football, the governing body for global flag football. Flag football is an Olympic sport starting in 2028.

Football Play Card already powers global flag football communities, including GAFCA in Germany, Flag Football Plays in Switzerland, FlagFootball.POV in Australia, and the USA Football Men's and Women's National Flag Teams, who both won the Gold Medal in Finland in 2024. The Fanatics Flag Football Classic with Tom Brady in March 2026 was run on Football Play Card.

If you have been using workarounds to fit international field dimensions, the IFAF field type handles it natively.

Convert Field Layout: Switch Between Scout Card and Scaled

Football-Play-Card-Convert-Field-Layout

Coaches can now convert any play between Scout Card and HS, College, and Pro field formats without recreating it.

Every player, route, and note repositions automatically. No work is lost.

Where to find it: Edit menu > Convert Field Layout.

Especially useful for flag football and 7on7 coaches who draw plays in Scaled mode for the playbook but need Scout Card format for wristband printing.
